The JWII pocket brix analyser measures the Brix concentration to an accuracy of 0.2 brix over a range of 0-55 brix with temperature compensation and meets the needs of even the most demanding applications. The repeatability and reliability of the system has been tested against some of the world leading laboratory refractometers and it has proven to be robust and reliable.

This pocket brix analyser is not only a Sugar Analyser and Sugar Refractometer but is a portable liquid concentration analyser for any bi-component liquid. Our brix monitor can be easily carried and has a long battery life of using standard AA batteries for convenient replacement.

UR62 – The Basic Inline brix analyser

The UR62 brix analyser is a probe style nD refractometer designed for simple installation in-line or in a tank or vessel. The UR62 brix monitor measures and outputs the result in Brix or nD or % concentration with maximum accuracy 0.1 Brix, 0.0002nD. 

The UR62 provides a 4-20mA output and digital output via RS232/485 that can be used to trigger an alarm when the brix concentration is falling outside the target specification. The brix analyser signal can also be used to notify the operator when the product has reached its target end point.

The brix monitor’s probe design is easily set up and configured through a PC or portable computing device using its built-in RS232/ 485 interface. It can also be connected to the optional RC-24 touch screen operator display unit. The brix analyzer does not have any drift so it does not need any adjustment vs the laboratory: after the initial configuration during start up. Due to the solid state optical technology, the equipment requires no maintenance.

UR32 – The Essential brix analyser

The UR32 brix analyser is a stand-alone unit designed for direct installation in-line or in a tank or vessel via a mounting fitting. The analyser measures concentration and displays and outputs the result in Brix or nD or % concentration with maximum accuracy 0.05 Brix, 0.00007nD.

The UR32 design is easily set up and configured and you can also connect via a PC or portable computing device using its built-in RS232/ 485 interface. It can also be connected to a remote display or touch screen operator display unit. TheUR32 brix analyzer does not have any drift so it does not need any adjustment vs the laboratory: after the initial configuration during start up. Due to the solid state optical technology, the equipment requires no maintenance.

UR24 – The Ultimate Inline brix analyser

The UR24 digital brix analyser is a stand-alone unit designed for direct installation in-line or in a tank or vessel. It continuously measures concentration and displays and outputs the result in Brix or nD or % concentration with super high accuracy 0.02 Brix, 0.00004nD. It also features a user
programmable scale for specific applications.

The UR24 design is easily set up and configured and you can also connect via a PC or portable computing device using its built-in RS232/ 485 interface. It can also be connected to a remote display or touch screen operator display unit. The IB07 can also add other analysis to the brix monitoring system, these include parameters such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Dissolved Oxygen (O2)

The IB07 soft drink brix analyser design is easily set up and configured and you can also connect via a PC running our Multilab PC software using its built-in Ethernet / RS232/ 485 interface. It can also be connected to a remote display or touch screen operator display unit. The IB07 soft drink brix analyzer does not have any drift so it does not need any adjustment vs the laboratory: after the initial configuration during start up. Due to the solid state optical technology, the equipment requires no maintenance.

Laboratory Brix Analysers

Our LR05 range of laboratory and at line brix analysers cover a wide range of brix measurements with varying levels of accuracy. These benchtop brix monitors allow the user to take samples from various locations to be analysed by the LR05 system. The user-friendly touch screen interface provides the operator with clear and precise results of the brix concentration. The LR05 also stores the historical record of the data which can be exported via USB or directly over the network using the in-built Ethernet networking port.

LR05 accuracy comes in various models from 0.05 Brix to 0.01 brix depending on the model selected.

Laboratory soft drink brix analyser

Our DR10 laboratory soft drink brix analysers cover a wide range of brix analysis from ultra low concentrations in Diet soft drinks to regular soft drink products . This benchtop soft drink brix analyser allows the user to take samples from various locations to be analysed by the DR10 system. The user-friendly touch screen interface provides the operator with clear and precise results of the Brix / Diet concentration. The DR10 also stores the historical record of the data which can be exported via USB or directly over the network using the in-built Ethernet networking port.

What is brix measurement?
Brix is a term used in industry for the % of sugar concentration in a liquid. For many processes it is important to measure the brix concentration in the product as it is manufactured and before dispatch. The sugar is a costly part of most products, so to control this accurately can have huge cost savings for a business. Brix measurement devices as mentioned above help to assist in the measurement and control of the Brix or sugar concentration level in an aqueous solution. 1 degree of brix is equivalent to 1% sugar in the liquid.


How do you calculate brix?
Brix analysers use light to measure the angle of refraction from the process liquid. An LED is used to send light into the product and the reflected angle is measured via CCD image. The CCD will have light and dark areas depending on the angle of refraction. From this CCD image a calculation can be made of the brix concentration.

How does the brix scale work?
Brix is a measurement of the dissolved sugar in a liquid. Example – 1 degree Brix equates to 1 gram of sugar in 100 grams of water. The brix scale is 0-100 brix equating to 0-100g of sugar in solution.

How do you calculate brix sugar?
This is calculated in a weight/weight basis. 10g of sugar in a 100g sample would be 10% or 10 Brix on the scale. A refractometer is the simplest most accurate device to measure the brix/sugar / liquid ratio.

What fruit has the highest brix?
Sugar levels in fruit are measured by testing using a brix analyser to measure the solids of sugar. High sugar fruit examples would be persimmons and grapes.

Why is brix important?
Brix values are important for consumers to be aware of the sugar concentration in a liquid, it is also important for the product manufacturer to measure and control the brix level during production.

What are the uses for an In-line brix analyser?
In-line refractometers can be used for many applications. Refractometers can measure any binary solution and its concentration. Applications vary widely and different refractometer models and accessories may be needed depending on the application.
